2018年11月11-13日，激光-物质相互作用前沿——The 5th International Symposium on Laser Interaction with Matter ( 第五届激光与物质相互作用国际会议在长沙召开。近400名中外专家学者代表参会。瑞典Lund University的Marcus Aldén教授，澳大利亚Australian National University的Yuri S. Kivshar教授，美国Arizona State University的Ning Cunzheng教授等10余位海内外专家做了大会特邀报告。本次大会共分六个专题，涵盖 Laser irradiation effect and Nano photonics，Laser plasma physics，Laser spectrum technology and applications，High power lasers，Fiber Laser and Nonlinear optics和Laser processing。

   我室共有5位师生代表参会。其中青年教师亓东锋应邀做分会场一（ Laser irradiation effect and Nano photonics）的主持人并作了题为《CW-Nanosecond laser induce Si surface nano-structures and In-situ visualization of nanosecond laser-materials processing》的邀请报告，青年教师徐天翔作了题为《Direct writing of three-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal using near-infrared femtosecond laser 》的口头报告；张亚文同学作了题为《Transient Study of Femtosecond Laser Induced GST Phase Change Film Morphology 》的口头报告，于潇涵同学作了题为《In-situ and Ex-situ Physical Scenario of the Femtosecond-induced Periodic Surface Structures 》的口头报告。激光与物质相互作用国际会议每两年举办一次，第六届将于2020年在上海举行。
